So, our son is a tattoo artist. For 11 years he rented a shop, but one year ago he got together all the money he could and he bought a three storey shop. He rents out chairs / rooms. They specialise in tattoos, tattoo removal, piercings, We are so proud of what he is achieving. He is a very talented tattoo artist and now a successful businessman. If you had your own business what would you be doing ?

I'm so happy for your son. He is really very talented and creative. I highly appreciate him for what he is doing. Wish him a dazzling success in all walks of life. I've a small grocery store that I had started a couple of years back. Before that I was a employee in a local company, but I was always willing to have a small business of my own. I accumulated money and finally resigned from my job. Now I'm my own boss and now I make money thrice my salary as an employee.

@traceyjayne Well done the son. I’d be useless as a businessman. Too unfocused. I think I’d start a shipping company with ships sailing between Larne where I live and Athens then on to Buenos Aires. Big demand for that!

@xFiacre. I’d be good in business, but it definitely would not be tattooing !

That’s fantastic! It’s got to be a good feeling as a parent to see your child make a living out of something that is a dream of theirs. If I started my own business I don’t know what it would be. I want to say greeting cards, but with costs rising fewer and fewer people send them out. I’d write them, and then my talented niece would do the illustration.

@AmbiePam. He has worked hard and now has a wonderful building and has people working for him. He is mid 30’s but can afford to only work a couple of days a week…..then it’s time on his motorbikes or just enjoying himself. Good for him, he has a talent that has made him a success and can enjoy life. I think greeting cards would be a great idea…..it’s true a lot of people send e cards now, but hand made items usually sell well. And you can personalise them too, people like that.

If I have the chance, I wanted to have a firm that can provide consultation services.

That's wonderful that your son is doing so well. I can't stand the current obsession with tattoos but to each his own.

@Traceyjayne I think every second person here has tatts. Some have their legs/arms/back covered in tattoos - men and women alike.

@JudyEv yes, it’s like that here too . Not my thing, although I admit some are beautifully done…..I think, yes, but what will it look like when you are old and wrinkly …… yuk.
