FPL (Electric Company) sent the Tree Butchers to come and "Trim" trees from the power lines. Nothing wrong with that...Except..They didn't just Trim...They Butchered the trees. The trees next door with one of the squirrel's nests in it was the worst. The Butchers cut limbs all the way down to the Trunk and took out the Nest. That was yesterday.
This Morning they started on OUR trees. They cut them quite a bit, but the nest is okay. They were getting close, and I finally yelled at the guy..STOP!!! The limb with the nest is no where NEAR the electric lines. He quit and left.
There is no more Squirrel Interstate. The only way they can get on the power lines is climb a light pole, then there is no where for them to jump into the trees from there.
I was worried about the nest, but the babies should be old enough to leave the nest by now. I was also worried that the squirrels wouldn't come back, but they did. Atleast 4 showed up today after the Butchers left.
I realize that they need to make sure the limbs won't take out the power lnes, BUT, it ALSO makes sure the Electric bill goes up as there is less shade.
They still have half the street to finish up. Might be interesting on down the street as there are a couple of yards with trees and lots of things in their yards around the trees.
I have to say that OUR tree looks okay, but our neighbors tree looks top heavy, and BARE of limbs.

Sorry to learn that the tree trimmers did mess up the trees that they were supposed to cut.

I hate the way they make the trees look.

That's a pity. They could be more careful.
