What food reminds you most of your childhood? Some people remember sweet desserts or simple home-cooked meals, but mine might sound unusual to others. I grew up loving dinakdakan and kilawing kambing. Dinakdakan is an Ilocano dish made from grilled pork parts like face, ears, and liver mixed with onions, chili, and creamy seasonings. Kilawing kambing is a goat meat dish cooked with vinegar, spices, and seasonings that give it a strong but delicious flavor.I know these are not the usual comfort foods for many people, but they remind me of family gatherings and special occasions when I was younger. Every time I eat them, I feel nostalgic. Also, i remember my mom tellimg me a story before where kids opts to eat hotdog more for a breakfast, i am looking for kilawin, pinakbet, dinakdakan. How about you? What food reminds you most of your childhood?

I haven't had rabbit stew, but they are now trying to make it as an alternative to pork meat, since it is easy to take care of rabbbits.. Goblin dinners, is that more of theme for dinner?

Fruit salad with ice cream - my uncle used to take me out for that delicious concoction. Those days are tough to repeat!

Filipino food. yay! I often have the chance to eat those every family gathering. Pinakbet as a kid I'm not really into vegetables so I usually choose the veggie I like, like I only eat string beans and ladyfinger in the Pinakbet. and a few cuts of squash.

What comes to mind is fried chicken. And boy, was it tasty fried chicken! There is nothing like homemade fried chicken. Often that would come with mashed potatoes and gravy, or with fried potatoes. And right now, I crave fried chicken like you would not believe!

My mother was a terrible cook. The only thing she made really well was gnocchi AND she was an outstanding baker. I loved her cookies.
