Purple basil

I bought a tiny purple basil plant 2 months ago, just for being curious. I planted it directly on my backyard. It thrives. I have no idea how this kind of basil wil effect the taste of my food later. I'm thinking about making pesto out of purple basil. I don't have any other ideas since this plant is new to me. Do you ideas about how can I use the purple basil?

This is new to me either. But I think this kind of basil is more nutritious than the green ones. Just like purple cabbage which is more nutritious than white cabbage.

Purple basil, that sounds interesting! I hope you get some pictures of whatever you make sometime in the future.

Yeah, as you can see in the picture above, all parts of the plant are purple. So I guess any food that I will make with this basil plant will be purple, like purple pesto.
