Returning the debt to family members, even if they don't want it. Have you been there?

It's actually one family member and she didn't like it, she felt insulted but i'm going to return it cause, i don't want to be manipulated anymore with her lending me the money and thinking money is the only language of love. To her, it is but not for me. In this life, i don't want to own anything to anyone. And, yes, i wish we had better relationship than this but we can't and i'm backing off cause, it's been such a long time of going backwards. Also, feeling tense on my body and other issues most of the time, i don't want it anymore, it's not worth it.

I'm sorry to know this but I would also pay my debt. A debt is a debt, family or not.

as one character form The Game of Thrones said A Lannister always pays his debt therefore, i agree with you

@rakski me too. although, there are some fake friends who still own me money but cutting them off was a better solution. i hope karma gave them additional debts

Yes, I had a family member mail me a check to pay for a gift I had sent her because she didn't think I could afford it. I returned the check (in a letter) without mentioning it.

@valherma00 thank you. I guess she was trying to be helpful, but it wasn't appropriate.

Yes, I’d pay it back too. I would hate to borrow money from family, but I guess sometimes it’s a necessity.

if you don't have a stable job, what else to do? i'm glad you paid it back.

@valherma00 I’ve never borrowed money from a family member, but a family member borrowed money from me a long time ago. I had actually forgotten about it, but she didn’t.

@AmbiePam you can trust your friends and colleagues and borrow from them? i saw so many friendships falling apart due to money. i am glad your family member didn't forget about it.

I can dig your sentiment about it. As much as possible. I need to give back what I owe to someone, whether a family member or not. I do not want to have a debt of the heart.
