This one is absolutely loved in England and many peoples favourites here. It was lucky to achieve that as the first season didn't really get much traction with viewers and nearly never continued. In the 1980s times were tough and the show was about a working-class London community hustling to make a buck to keep going and as the audience were doing the same thing they weren't really in the mood to appreciate the joke. Season two exploded and the rest is history. Like British life, the class system drives most sitcom jokes here and no different this time. It centers on 50-something Derek ''Delboy' Trotter ( David Jason), a fidgety, fast talking cockney guy looking to sell anything, buy anything and hustle anything. But he's a loveable rogue in his community and so can get away with pretty much most things. His younger brother Rodney and his grandad share a flat in South London and the laughs just come thick and fast as they mix with their various London characters of those times with all manner of scrapes and scams. Dodgy car lots and local markets are a battleground for the Trotters as they go about their thing. When you endear yourself to the characters and perhaps identify with them you are far more likely to enjoy these sitcoms. As I have said before if you live outside of the UK one has perhaps not heard of this show and won't get the humor but I hope somewhere out there in the world it's loved as much as we do. The famous theme tune... '......We've got some half price cracked ice and miles and miles of carpet tiles, T.V.s, deep freeze and David Bowie L.P.s, Ball games, gold chains, wozanames, And at a push And Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush, Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush ... No income tax, no V.A.T., No money back, no guarantee, Black or white, rich or poor, We'll cut prices at a stroke...... God bless Hooky Street, Viva Hooky Street, Long live Hooky Street, C'est magnifique, Hooky Street, Magnifique, Hooky Street, Hooky Street ........

Interesting, not much into too many Brit comedies than the one I mentioned before but have enjoyed Midsomer Murders.
