In Shimla due to fear of monkeys the balconies are covered with nets

May 10, 2026 8:29pm CST
There are nets in the balconies in houses and hotels in Shimla. Shimla is a hill station and capital city of Himachal Pradesh. There are lot of monkeys which love to stay at heights so they entire houses and eat up fruits. But the nets reduce the beauty of the balconies as hills have lovely sceneries and landscapes. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zcSufcXnFnE https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2KJh3TbyJR4

I like mischievous monkeys. Can the locals make them as their pet?

@sathviksouvik In my country, it is not allowed. When I was a child, I am wishing to have one as a pet.

I wouldn't like monkeys to be able to enter any buildings where I was staying.

That is an interesting information. If the monkey stayed in forests it would not have been problem. But when they come into residential areas they cause trouble and nuisance..

thanks Xavier one of the problems is that the food habit of monkeys are close to humans like they are fond of bananas
