Dust, dust, and more dust.

We are living in a haze of blowing dust here again. Currently we are under a blowing dust advisory or whatever they decide to call it today, depending on which station is reporting it. Even though we have had a lot of rain, this is Illinois and there are lots of farm fields that are either being tilled, or are freshly tilled, and it hasn't rained in several days. It's windy...this isn't unusual for spring weather, but the dust is terrible today. Everything is in a cloud of hazy dust. Unfortunately, this is making my allergy issues flare wildly and I am not so happy.
I woke up sneezing. Ugh...but tonight we are to hopefully have a good thunderstorm or two that will settle it for another day or two. I hope we do, this is worse than getting a cold. May have more 60 MPH winds again this afternoon...so more dust.
My next door neighbor has a black car, she left it in the driveway last night rather than in her garage. It's not black today, now it's gray--with a layer of dust.
Do you ever get these dust storms where you live?

Thank goodness in my area there is no dust storms. Either snow or extreme rainstorms from time to time.

We don't have dust storms here in the UK ....which is lucky as they don't sound a lot of fun !

No dust storms it isn't that dry, but before it rained..I noticed when son was cutting the grass he was kicking up dust. That's unusual. We have been in a drought but got quite a bit of rain yesterday and more is expected tomorrow evening.

You sound like Florida when it's pollen season, except ours is a coat of yellow all over everything and not gray! But lately, we've been having days upon days of hazy, smoky conditions from all the wildfires burning around us. Even several days of solid rain hasn't eliminated the fires or the smoke, although I'm sure it's helped. I don't know which is worse out of the three: smoke, pollen or dust?
