French eying East Africa after rejection in West Africa?

Having keenly followed the recent Forward Africa Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya where the French leader Macron was a key person, I tend to believe France is serious in building strong and lasting relations with East African states. Protests that took place on the second day, however, leave me wondering if the relationship shall bear any fruits. Local and International media sources have of late reported France’s sour relations with West African countries. In fact among the protesters were from West Africa, justifying the media reports. We hope that Macron’s intentions are not to make life difficult for East Africans, especially Kenyans.

It's hard to know these days what politicians are hoping for.

Essentially, they are guided by personal interests and interests of their allies.
