I am a proud African, almost independent of any leadership as I am mostly self-reliant in terms of basic needs. I mean I hardly expect food, shelter and clothing from our government. Healthcare is scandalous and amenities are overcharging. All this is usually as a result of poor or incompetent leadership. This is commonplace all over sub-Saharan African countries. I therefore wonder how Uganda’s president has been allowed in office for 4 decades and still offered another chance to serve for another term. Rigging is commonplace but I was astonished to see the multitude of Ugandans cheering as he was sworn in in the stadium. Interestingly, the same Ugandans complain of poverty, poor infrastructure and lack of democracy! Anyway, Museveni is serving a seventh term after being sworn in on May 12th 2026.

African leaders seldom leave power at will. Some sort of greed overpowers them.

I wonder what he'll deliver to them in this new term after failing to deliver for the last 4 decades!
