Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 64 degrees F and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. So much for the rain that was expected this afternoon. I can't wait for the warm weather to arrive next week! Today was my 2nd day back at work. The students are still happy to see me. We'll see how long that lasts. I started showing them a documentary today about dirt. No. Seriously. It is called "Dirt: The Movie". It is really interesting (to me) and gives the viewer a new way to think about soil, the environment, and how everything is interconnected. The kids thought I was joking when I told them I was showing them a video about dirt. I got a class coverage this morning so that's $45 extra for the week. I can always use that! There is some drama about voucher pay for duty coverages. Everyone is freaking out about it b/c they think they are going to get only $22/period for class coverages. No it is still $45. For some reason an administrator at central admin said they weren't going to honor the increased coverage rate for duties. The union is going to file a grievance. In the meantime I'm not much bothered. I mean I get that it is important to follow the contract but a raise for duty coverage would only be like $1 or $2. I can't find my copy of the contract. Bad union member! Not much going on here this afternoon along the vein of my taking it slower. I have laundry going. I need to do dishes and make dinner. I will be happy if that's all I achieve. I have the weekend to try to finish it all up. What's everyone else up to this afternoon?
