This house in Bayeux certainly has the wow factor and it’s only 100 metres from my brother’s care home.
It’s an old house renovated with so many quirks to be figured out. There is a door that leads to a corridor that goes nowhere, and an honesty cellar from which we can purloin some very good wines so long as we leave some cash.
The bedrooms are ginormous, about 5 times as big as @looeyville ‘s ship cabin, yet my lady folk still manage to colonise every square inch of them for their getting-ready campaigns.
When the ladies were battle-ready last night we ate exquisite food at Le Garde Manger.
I do like Bayeux, but a bit too much English and American is spoken. And one of the main “attractions” is the association with the Second World War which you might think was still going on. A bit like the famine in Ireland which, for political reason, many people. Treat as if it was current rather than an awfulness of the 1840s.
Ah well.
