Losing a job is hard

I was laid off from my job as a Tribune Carrier after 14 years, and though I've found another job, it's not working out very well. I'm not getting enough hours because the company doesn't have enough money to pay me for more hours. I've applied to other jobs with no luck, and I admit I'm getting frustrated and worried that I'm going to lose everything. I keep hoping that it'll turn out okay.. If you see this post, will you keep me and my animals in your thoughts, good vibes, and prayers that something good will happen for us? Much thanks.

Take a deep breath. You're going to be fine. I can understand how it feels to be wondering if you'll have enough. Been there done that. Be thankful that you you have a job, even if it's not what you want. You have something and you can try side gigs too to help with the money issue.

They're only giving me a few hours a week. I can't pay my bills. Side gigs have not helped at all. My bills come to about $2000 a month.

@Firestorm0122 Yeah, I know. The cost of living is up there. I won't lie, I'm struggling, too. I know that you haven't really been here, but to sum things up, George retired in 2022, a year later he had a stroke. He's alive and is doing fairly well, but I had to make a lot of choices and acrew bills I didn't have before to make up for the year he wasn't driving. Maybe you can reach out to some myloters on here, I know that some of them know some good gigs to help stay afloat. nd, as mentioned, you can always look for more work that pays and will give you the hours to make it worth it. I know it's scarry, I know it's hard, and I know 2,000 is a lot of money per month. But, you're strong and won't give up. You can do this.

@Firestorm0122 I don't blame you there. I know the first year after the stroke had been a rough one. We lost our last cat, Chilly, in 2024 only six months after George was released from rehab. I feel guilty still because I thought it was my fault. I had to step up, take care of him, take care of George and juggling the two wasn't easy. There were days where Chilly wanted to cuddle with George, but George didn't want him on him. Or days where I'd have to put him in the bedroom, because he wanted to "help" with tube feeds. I know that it wasn't my fault, but I still feel bad about it.
I know how little those games pay out. The ones I play I deposit around a dollar or less a day. In some cases a dollar or more. SServey sites are slow-going too. I'm lucky if I get five dollars/week from those, but I do them anyway because I won't give up. George and I are both on social security, so you can imagine how that is. He gets paid at the end of the month and I get paid near the begining.

Aye
Losing a job is not good.
I have seen people in some despair over losing a job and I know the stress it can cause.
Hope you find something better soon
