Just food. Isn’t it marvellous!!

Our plans went awry today. We took my brother out in his wheelchair (aka flying carpet) for a drink intending to continue on through the town to have dinner. However half way through his drink he took a turn and I had to push him back to his care home. He goes funny if he sits too long in his chair and needed to lie down. It was unfortunate, but hopefully he’ll be fine tomorrow and we can sit in the garden with him for a while then he can go to his room for a lie down. Something to do with Parkinson’s disease. So my wife, daughter and I went for a meal on our own, and the food here just keeps on getting better. Café Gabin served me up a magret de canard, even more pink than the last one. Best I’ve ever had. My wife had poultry normande which also astounded us. Good french restaurants don’t have an extensive menu. They propose only a few simple dishes of really well-cooked food and they shine. For afters I luxuriated in a Tarte Normande, a superbly prepared sort of tarte tatin. I was so moved that I got out my phone and photographed it, something uncouth teenagers are in the habit of doing, but instead of displaying it on the instagram account I don’t have I’ve published it here for you. I wonder does raw duck appear on the menu on @looeyville ‘s cruises? Espresso followed.
