Busy Monday

It's already 7pm, and I'm still stuck here in the office ??. Just finished prepping for tomorrow's big day, and I'm totally drained. My day started early, and before I even got a chance to sit down, I got a message asking for an update on our major activity tomorrow – with the big bosses attending, no less. I answered all the questions, even though they should've asked me sooner, being the head of the committee and all ??. But anyway, I got it done. Then, one of my colleagues popped by asking about the venue, so we ended up doing an ocular inspection – a solid 1.5 hours away from the office ??. When I got back, I had pending compliance work to finish, and just as I was about to send it to the boss, another colleague needed help with the budget. I know they could've handled it, but I ended up tagging along anyway ?????. Honestly, it's days like these that make me wonder if people think I can't manage without them ??. Feels like I'm the support system of the whole team, right? ?? Sometimes it's overwhelming, especially when you're always the go-to person. ?? But yeah, I'm getting it all done, even if it feels like a lot. Maybe it's time to start delegating some tasks? ?? Get others to take ownership, you know? Anyway, haven't eaten dinner yet, thinking of grabbing something quick. or maybe i'll just eat some biscuits and drink milk for my dinner then sleep early because I need to recharge my energy. How about you, how was your day?

I called them last night for a meeting and delegated some tasks to them. I also supervised them until our activity finished. Because of their help, our activity was a huge success. To reward them for doing their best, I'll surprise them with a buffet dinner.

Bless your heart. I can’t imagine having to oversee so many things at once! You must be doing a very good job. It’s only 7:33am here on Monday morning, so my day just started. Nothing much is planned for today. Get some rest, girl!

Maybe it's because I'm used to it. Ever since college, I've always been an active student leader. Whenever there were activities, I was usually the head, and I also know how to delegate and supervise their work. That's why last night, while they were still here, I called them for a meeting. I delegated their tasks, and today I just followed up and supervised what they were doing.

It feels great to be the person everyone counts on, but it can also be stressful and draining. It’s best to help others as long as it doesn’t leave you feeling worn out and you still enjoy it. As for your question, starting to delegate tasks is a smart move so you won’t be burdened in the long run. It’s a wise decision to make the workload lighter and easier to manage, especially if those around you can work independently instead of always relying on you.

@Soobinah Congratulations on that, and I hope they can learn to be independent soon so you can focus on your responsibilities. In the meantime, you can keep working with them until they’re fully trained to manage on their own.
