Season is slowly shifting....

The past few days have been intensely hot, with the sun blazing down on us during this summer season. Lately, though, I’ve noticed some gloomy days that look like it might rain, and last Sunday we even had a brief shower. I think we’re slowly shifting into the wet season, the counterpart to our dry season. However, the weather forecast hasn’t declared summer over yet, as temperatures can still climb as high as 45°C, and most days remain hotter than a more tolerable climate.

It’s a good thing flooding isn’t an issue in my area. The only time it ever affected us was during Ondoy, but since then, we haven’t had any problems with flooding at all.

@rsa101 are you from Marikina? I was stranded in the street that day. Gladly, I saw my church friends, and one of them had a sister who works and lives near Quezon City, and she let us all sleep in their apartment during the night. We are all wet, and I am glad I saw my cousin, who has a spare jacket and gave it to me.

@luisadannointed I live in San Juan, a place not usually affected by floods, except during Ondoy.

I think it’s happening in many parts of the world. Here, it’s also starting to wind down, even though hot days are still common, and according to weather forecasters, summer isn’t over yet.

It looks like your area is gradually shifting from spring to summer, which seems to happen everywhere, just at different times depending on the location.

Yeah, it’s the same here—sometimes it feels like it could rain any moment, but it doesn’t. I only saw rain last Sunday, and it was such a brief shower that it didn’t make any difference in the temperature. It’s still very hot and humid.

Those really high temperatures are really debilitating.

@JudyEv When humidity levels are low in high temperatures, the conditions may still be uncomfortable but can remain tolerable. Lower humidity reduces the amount of moisture in the air, allowing sweat to evaporate more efficiently and helping the body regulate its temperature. This can make the heat feel less oppressive compared to situations with high humidity, where the air’s moisture content hinders evaporation, causing the body to retain more heat and feel significantly warmer.

I need to stay hydrated as much as possible to handle the heat in my area. I think I prefer temperatures between 20-28°C, as that range is the perfect sweet spot for enjoying a comfortable climate.

@rsa101 It is the humidity that hits hardest I think.

It seems like people love summer where you are, but here it’s a different story. Our summers are sweltering hot and humid, and everyone is always looking for a cool spot to escape the heat.

@thelme55 That is true it is very different having only two season wet and dry season than there having 4 season. Winter is the extreme season there were everything is frozen cold. I have never been to that kind of season yet. I have seen Spring and Autumn in US and the temperatures are just perfect to stay out in the sun and still feel cold but with a slight hint of heat from the sun. But still its still is a very cold climate compared to ours here in the Philippines.

@rsa101 Yes, we love Summer here because we seldom have hot days. We have 4 seasons here in Germany. I can relate to how you feel about the hot sweltering humid weather in the Philippines. I was born in the Philippines and lived there for 20 years before I came to Germany.

I notice that in the morning it is still hot and now in the afternoon I often see now that the sky is gray. Today it rained light this afternoon. I miss the rain actually after a month of dry and hot season
