What a day?!

Today is our D-Day, the one I’ve been preparing for the past few weeks. It’s exhausting and nerve-wracking because the chiefs are attending this activity. No room for mistakes — everything has to be perfect.
We left the office at 6am to head to the venue, and the trip took about an hour. As soon as we got there, I checked if the breakfast food was ready. There was a small hiccup, but I sorted it out right away. Then little by little, our VIPs started arriving, and we made sure to assist all of them.
I delegated tasks to my teammates last night during our meeting, so I went through each of their assignments this morning. I made sure they had everything they needed and that I was there to answer any questions so they could do their tasks properly. Everything went well, and we even finished early — by 10am it was all done.
I told everyone they could take a break and asked our chief if it was okay for the team to rest before heading back to the office. The chief agreed. I just got back myself, and I’m wiped out. My body feels like it’s about to give out after handling this activity for several days straight.
Tonight, I’m taking them to a buffet restaurant near the office as a reward for doing such a great job. My chief actually offered me a leave, but I declined since I’ll be taking leave next week anyway.
Right now, I’m just sitting here in the office, catching up and chatting with my chief and another boss. In a bit, I’ll get back to work.
How about you, how’s your day going?

I'm glad everything went well and you were offered some extra time off, even if you didn't take it.
Everything is fine here. I just fried some pork loin with spices and onions and made some broccoli and cheese for breakfast.

@Soobinah When Pretty was a teenager, I'd buy a head of broccoli and cauliflower, cut the florets off into a bowl and we'd watch a movie while snacking on the raw florets.
Pretty won't eat broccoli anymore and I prefer not to eat cauliflower now.
