Ughhhh, This Dang Heat!

It’s been in the 90s all week, and to be honest, I’m not a fan of it. I’ve never been a fan of the blistering heat, though. It’s hot, sticky, and just uncomfortable. I walked into the coffee shop today, looked at my friend, and said, “It’s not even summer yet, and I already hate summer.” Unfortunately, the a/c at the coffee shop broke this morning. I mean, it’s just as warm in my house, so I may as well stay here where there are fewer bodies to generate heat. We don’t have our air conditioners in yet, and probably won’t until June because the temperature will remain steady by then. So for now, I have some cold caffeinated drink that my niece was testing (she came up with it herself, I believe, but I didn’t ask her what it is, like if it’s a cold brew, latte, etc.) because it’s REALLY good. It has hints of pineapple and mocha. I also bought water in my big insulated Snoopy tumbler. I love this tumbler because it keeps my drinks cold for HOURS. Perfect for drinking water on a hot day. I’m also next to the open door. I love sitting next to the open door because of the sun, but I’m also just trying to stay cool. There are ceiling fans, but meh. They can only do so much. But again, regardless of where I work, it’ll be hot. I just feel I’ll focus better at the coffee shop. On a somewhat related (to focusing) note, my younger sister let me borrow one of her many Bluetooth earbuds at the gym over the weekend. I have Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones, but my ears were getting hot (I don’t walk as slowly on the treadmill as I used to, so I work up a sweat more). So anyway, she let me have the earbuds, which was super nice of her. I keep them in my purse so nothing happens to them, and I pulled them out today. My headphones were getting uncomfortable, and the earbuds are noise-canceling anyway. Sooo, I’m listening to an autumn-themed playlist because it’s relaxing, will help me focus, and maybe I’ll “think cool” lol. As for my work, I’m in the middle of a writing order that’s due in a few hours. I’m not sure what I’m doing after because work is slow at the moment. It also depends on how I’m feeling after this one is submitted. While I focus better at the coffee shop, the heat does pose a problem for me. I’m just going to worry about this order and cross the next bridge when I get to it. Once I get home, I'm grabbing a cold shower. I was supposed to go to the store to pick up my medication, but my brother-in-law was already going, so he did that for me. I don’t think I want to go anywhere else. I just wanna sit in front of the fan and cool off. Fortunately, the temperature is dropping back down to the 60s/70s on Thursday, and it’s SUPPOSED to be in the 70s for several days after (hence why we don’t have the a/c in yet). So, at least this won’t last for long. By the next time it does, we’ll hopefully have the a/c in. Alrighty, I’m going to get back to work. You all have a good day. Stay safe and take care.

Yesterday and today here have been cool and around 60 degrees. After the heat and humidity we seemed to have had”forever”, I am soaking it up. This is especially good since my air conditioner is not working correctly.

Oooh, that sounds nice, 60 degrees. I love 60/70 degrees. Sometimes 50s, if it's fall season. The 80s aren't too bad, even though I'm not a fan of summer. But anything higher, no thank you. Oh no, were you able to get your a/c repaired or replaced?

Helloooo. :) Yeah, please don't go out in that heat if you can help it. I hear ya, though. I'm usually miserable and cranky when it's unbearably hot. Thanks, I hope you're doing well! I'm catching up on old comments and notifications before posting anything else.

I can understand the trouble you are facing with heat. Here too, we are faving max of close to 44 C and min around 26 C. Hot winds blow outsider during the day time. If AC needs repairs, get it done immediately. Else it would be very difficult to manage. It would be good for you if the AC undergoes repair and servicing quickly.

I'm sorry you're dealing with it too. :( Our a/c works fine. But we live in an older house, so we install them in our room's windows rather than have central air. The temperature is due to drop 20-30 degrees in two days, so that's why they're not in yet, or we wouldn't be able to open certain windows. Personally, I'm not opposed to the air conditioners going in now, but then it would also cause an unnecessary spike in our bills. They'll most likely go in next month and stay in until fall. It's the coffee shop that has the broken a/c, and I agree, it needs to be repaired asap.

@tammys85 We also have a Window AC as we are in a rental place. Split ACs cause lesser noise and can be more efficient but they are costlier. Yes running ACs for longer hours does adds to the overall electricity bill. Have a great day !

@tammys85 Yes just about managing! Monsoons are delayed this year. So we have to face another 10 to 15 days of relentless and humid heat.

weather is becoming really unstable. very lovely of your sister to borrow you bluetooth earbuds. also, autumn theme is a great choice. i think you picked the right stop in the coffee shop and stay there as long as you feel to but, yeah, i understand the heat, a big trigger for me too; i was never a summer child. here, the morning was already warm and my apartment gets cold now and then so i put my warmer cotton t-shirt but i sweated in just 15minutes outside. i need to find lighter t-shirts. ah.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I love autumn. The weather, the scenery, all of it. Now that we have a/c in at home, and they have a portable a/c at the coffee shop until the main one can be fixed in a few weeks, it's a little more bearable. Please stay safe and cool!
