What’s One Skill Schools Should Teach But Don’t?

For me, I think schools should teach more about financial literacy. A lot of students graduate knowing advanced math formulas but still don’t know how to budget money, save properly, avoid debt, or manage expenses in real life. I honestly think lessons about saving, investing, taxes, and handling money would help students much more in adulthood. I remeber reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad Before, the author Robert Kiyosaki highlighted, educational systems mostly teach students how to be employees, but never equip them with the tools to master money or recover from failure What skill do you think schools should teach that would actually be useful in everyday life?

I have said for years that students should learn how to balance a checkbook and learn about saving money, mortgages, etc.

Definitely financial information, especially budgeting. Reading, writing, and arithmetic would also be nice…

Financial literacy was also the first thing that came to my mind. It’s imperative, and we are really letting our kids down by ignoring the subject.

I definitely agree that financial literacy should be taught in schools. It's useful to know about savings, budgeting and such.

I think financial literacy is very iimportant as you say. Parenting skills would be a very good idea too.
