Finally Figured Out Where the Sound Was Coming From

...my right ear, apparently. I had been concerned when my husband didn't hear the noise, even when we were standing in the same room. I had certainly considered the sound was internal, but I had never heard it anywhere outside the house. However, a few days ago when I went to bed, I heard the sound as clearly as usual, only my head was against the pillow, completely covering my ear. Oh. And then I *did* end up hearing the sound when I was outside the house. It was just a coincidence that I hadn't, because the sound isn't constantly happening, just now and then. I looked up what could be causing it, and it seems like it might just be excessive wax built up in my ear canal, which is a pretty common problem. I will eventually need to go to an ear doctor and get cleaned out, I guess, but it's not affecting my hearing, so I'm not in a big hurry. It's not as annoying now that I know what it is, and at least there's nothing major going wrong with my house, lol!
