Should I laugh or feel bad for him right now?

Long before meeting my husband, I was with a boyfriend I nearly married. He was my entire world, and I truly believed I was theirs. But after seven years together, he abruptly broke up with me and married someone else. It left me crushed, deeply hurt, afraid, and depressed. Just a few days ago, my sister gave me an update. It turns out his wife dumped him. I'm sitting with such mixed feelings right now—torn between wanting to laugh at the irony and wanting to feel compassion for his pain.

You should be happy. Very happy. He is paid in the same coin.

@Shasha It's what we call "karmafal" in Sanskrit. You get back what you give to others.Often with interest.

@Shivram59 "Often with interest" part is a powerful reminder to always be mindful of what we put out into the world.

It seems like life has a way of balancing things out, but I'm just glad that chapter of my life is closed. My happiness now comes from my own life, not his karma.

I would not have compassion for him. He got what he deserved. You are lucky that relationship didn't work out. You are much better off.

Truth! I guess the universe just needed to teach him the lesson I was too tired to give.

Just move on and forget about him. It wasn't God's will to marry him. Maybe if you would have married him, he would have dumped you as well. It's better to have a broken relationship than a broken marriage.

You spoke absolute wisdom! Sometimes a painful breakup is just a redirection to something much better. It is truly better to have a broken relationship than a broken marriage
