There are bad people around and it's wise to be alert

Am I naive or overly trusting in the goodness of humanity? Whatever it is but I have lost quite a few things from the building site of my new house in the recent months.
My fair lady, the mom of my foster children, is quite fond of flowers and plants. She has collected many rare plants in the years that we have lived in the NGO's foster care home. Whenever we took the children for summer camps, away from home, she was sure to pick some plants, creepers or shrubs. Thus, we have over fifty flower/plant pots, cactus and dragon fruit climbers in the garden around our home in the NGO. We are allowed to live in this house till April 2027. By that time I must shift all her dear plants to the new house. I'm doing it slowly, keeping the earthen pots outside the house. That's the mistake I made , trusting the goodness of humanity , when I should have been doubtful.
Yesterday morning when I went to the new house to do some gardening, I noticed two most beautiful and precious pots, big and wide, were MISSING!
A part of me scolded me in the words I have used here as the title. I was expecting a AK47 firing from the lady but I was relieved to see it was a mild one.
Today, I carried most of the pots into the house. Tomorrow, I plan to put them on the terrace.

I would have been using bad words too. That is really disappointing that people would do that. Now they know about your place, they will surely come back so take care.
