Some Propaganda We Have Normalized

Our culture often thinks more expensive= higher quality. However, that's mostly propaganda we've been conditioned to accept. It's been great for marketing departments, for big business bottom lines, but I promise if you buy from a mom and pop shop, you'll get great quality without having to sell a kidney or your soul. Just offering this up as something to consider.

Mom and Pop stores have just as good products for sale at lower prices for their products.

Lately I have been writing a series on a writing site about US small towns and I tell you some of those family owned businesses look so quaint they would draw my business more than anything big and modern,

Can you give an example? I get my shorts from Target (low price), but my flannel shirts from L.L. Bean (good quality/ moderate price).

I agree that we should buy from local, smaller businesses.
