Midnight oil is loaded with aboriginals i n every song they sing. Meaning I did not get the history of this song. This is about world war 2 "Australia's worst maritime tragedy. The Montevideo Maru was carrying 1000 Aussie prisoners captured by the Japanese WW2. A US Submarine sank it in 1942 not realizing the captured Australian's were being held there. My neighbors son was one of the Prisoners. Such a tragic event. Good on the Oils for paying Tribute to them." It kind of makes it more powerful, because the people he protects were fighting for to make sure they get their rights. No wonder its so personal to Pete and his grand dad lost his life. You can never go wrong with Midnight Oil, they teach you things.

Peter Garrett is a man of conviction. He and Justin Sullivan from New Model Army are quite similar.

Yeah they one of my all time favorites and one of the few not in the punk genre which is getting more rare as I get older. People been telling my whole life when you get older you will see how punk music is for teens, I am like what they talking about. punk music may sound teen, but they speak on some serious stuff. The problem is the world stopped and now its just money this and that and this issues are not getting fixed.
