Traumatized.

I think my children are traumatized by what they experienced the past two days. We have been at the condo for two days and one night. I'm thinking of going home tomorrow so I discussed it with them and both of them told me 'what if it explodes again?' Who wouldn't be traumatized having no electricity for two consecutive nights? First night was like 10 hours and the second night was more than 24 hours no electricity.

The transformer in the nearby post where our electricity line is connected exploded for two nights.

I’ve gone four days without any electricity due to an ice storm that wiped out all the power lines. I understand dreading the same thing happening again, but we all have to face our fears. I really hope you don’t have the same problem. It’s just not right in such heat.

That's true. I'm giving them a another day or two to stay here before going back there.

I had 3 days of no electric here once in the winter. It was pretty horrible. I still have a bit of PTSD from it

it'll take awhile until it register to their mind that it won't happened again. Asking such questions is like a defense mechanism for a kid to stay safe.
