How do you do your groceries?

When it comes to grocery shopping, it is my task. But when it is about buying other things for the house like furniture, appliances, or paying the bills, all of those are my husband's responsibilities .
I usually do the groceries once a week which is every Saturday morning right after breakfast. I most of the time go to a supermarket near our house. My husband and I also sometimes go for small grocery shoppings here and there once or twice a week.

I have now my own grocery store. A small one, but it does a good business. Grocery items needed in my family are supplied by my own shop. But before I have this shop, grocery items grocery shopping was done by my younger sister. She is no more. On the 10th of January, 2020 she suddenly expired at 5 a .m

@Ayu2026 It was a bolt from the blue for our family. It happened so unexpectedly and suddenly that we were badly shocked. Doctors say it was a sudden heart attack.

I do 99.9% of the grocery shopping since I am the one who cooks and handles the money. I shop at several stores since I shop best price and that requires going to more than one store. But I don't do it all at once. I keep an inventory, make a list, and go to whatever store has the best price to restock from my list.

@Ayu2026 I have always been mindful of my money and wealth building, and one of the ways you do that is not to spend more than you have to on anything.
So, you come up with systems. You know your prices by heart. You know who has the best prices. And you shop accordingly and make it so that when something goes on the list, you're not out of it, you will just need it soon, and you have time to wait to replace it without spending more on it.
It has always worked for me.
It's not the ONLY reason I retired at 50 three years ago. But it's one of the reasons.

@porwest That's fantastic of you. I agree with you..I always try to buy anything based on the budget (or if possible less than the budget), and also after having done some research on the products that I need to buy.
There a lot of people that I know and my husband's friends who don't manage their money well. My husband's friend, Chris, often complains to my husband that he spent his salary on crap, and he ended up having a lot of debts. Even he has to start to work again in his age which is almost 60.
Anyway, that's really impressive to hear that you could RETIRE at 50. My jaw dropped.
I think todays it's very rare for regular people to retire at 50 like you did.
Thank you for sharing your inspiring wisdom about using money wisely.

Because my back was injured in a car accident, and I unfortunately live on the 3rd floor, I have come to the point of having my groceries delivered to my front door. No longer do I have to strain my back, thank goodness. Occasionally, they mess up, but they are quick to give a refund, and they are so much better than when I first tried, then stopped using them several years ago.
So, I get groceries once a week. I’m never sure how much money I’ll have, so I buy groceries, by the week.

I'm so sorry about the car accident that injured your back. It must have been so frustrating when they messed up your orders, even though they were quick to give you a refund.
So, now it seems that you are able to do your groceries by yourself. How long did it take for your back to be fully recovered?

I usually just pick up things when I am near one. Maybe once a month I go on a major shop.

Mostly online and get it delivered to our door
But we do also go to local shops if we run out of anything

We do a shop on a Sunday afternoon, but I do smaller shops of items as and when we need them throughout the week.
