Well we have had the celebratory meal I spoke of yesterday, and you know what? It was wonderful. No complaints whatsoever except that I had to pay more than what I thought it was worth. The main thing was that our daughter enjoyed it, but I must say that I’m now uncomfortably full. We started with a selection of breads and dips which were tasty and I took too much so leaving not enough room for the main course which in my case was spicy lamb. Furthermore, none of my fellow diners annoyed me! An excellent night all round.

That sounds like a noteworthy success! Incidentally, if you had the money and time, could you start a restaurant you think would be successful? You’re such a good cook on your own.

Vince loves cooking but we decided against a cafe/restaurant years ago. Not that it was ever a serious consideration.

@AmbiePam No. I’d be too quick to tell customers to sit quietly while they wait. I’d also employ a shusher armed with a cattle rod to assault anyone who spoke too loudly. Not appreciated I’m told.

@xFiacre When you charge $150 per plate they call that eccentric, and it makes people intrigued. Well, maybe not the cattle prod.
