You use a fake name and a bland address. You don't use popular browsers. You use another email address to join social networks. So, you join Face Book as Deana Troi, connect using Opera, have an email address at Proton. On line you use a photo that is not you. You see your friends, people you have coffee with an send them a message, revealing who you are. To 'hack' your account isn't simple. Firstly, why create a hack tool for a browser 1% of the population uses? If you feel uncomfortable, create another account, using another 'unknown' email and browser, under another Nickname. I case your first account gets deleted, you have the back up and can notify your friends. Privacy online is rare, yes, but important

yes... that is a real option... but just as you are Jimbo45 and I don't know who you are, or where you are from, you get that blanket of protection on other sites, like FB which is a butcher shop

@jaylar But I don't need a blanket of protection I don't hide my identity anywhere online Everyone on here for instance knows my name is Jim, I am from Scotland and have been here 20 years Many have my email which uses my real name which is Jim Lostatooth.

@Ineeddentures what if I was a scammer? I do a search of your name, find out what school you went to or where you work, and get some more info and then pretend to be someone you used to know....
