I was nervous as heck driving across that bridge to the Beach Side, but the old van did good. I need motor mounts and brakes (brakes still work good, I just know they are worn some). When we got to the Post hardly anyone was there. The bartender told me someone had brought in the cake and it was huge. I couldn't imagine. Bingo starts at 3:15, and they were going to announce it was Tom's Bday and bring out the cake. And that happened. One of the Ladies from the auxialary provided the food for Bingo, but she changed the menu because of Tom. They had BBQ Ribs and Chicken from Shane's BBQ House. They were really good. Baked beans and ColeSlaw and Garlic Toast. When they brought out the cake it had on it Happy Birthday Big Tom AKA Sasquatch. Tom sometimes lets his hair and beard grow long and he is tall. His Buddy who passed away always called him Sasquatch...even bought him a shirt with it on the front. Everyone got a big kick out of the cake. He drank free all afternoon. I played Bingo and everytime the number 69 came up everyone would say BigTom. LOL It was so nice of everyone involved to make his Bday a good one. They helped him to the van, and carried out our to go boxes. The friend who brought the cake loves to cook, and he smoked Pork Candy this morning and brought him a big pan of it. That is what I had for supper. Saving the ribs for tomorrow. He got up and thanked everyone for making his day the best Bday he has ever had. The people at the Post are just good people. I called one of my friends out there Wed. when I took the computer in to the shop, and she got everyone else involved. Truly a Wonderful Day...even if I DIDN'T win.
