What is your absolute most mindless phone habit? How long do you think you could realistically go without checking it? Most of us open our phones completely unprompted. We look at the screen, close it. We didn't actually check anything. It is just muscle memory. It is just like an involuntary reflex. Most of us are prisoners of this digital era. What are your thoughts about this? Most of the time I just check my phone even without a clear reason like scrolling which really eats my time and sometimes it is just hard to put it down.

I don't check my phone all the time. My daughter takes my phone online more often than I do when we're going shopping or out somewhere. I prefer using my laptop if I'm going online and myLot is the most mindless thing I do all day long. I check for new discussions, respond to notifications and, once in a great while, I actually write a new discussion. (It's really rare for me to post a new discussion on myLot.) I spend two to three hours a day on my laptop.
My phone is mostly used to answer incoming calls (I might get a phone call once a week.), send text messages (I send around 100 texts to friends and family in a week.) and play different types of solitaire.

Oh wow. Well as for me, I use my phone a lot. Yea mostly on social media purposes and texting. And connecting with loved ones and friends. My laptop basically is for work and school purposes but well yea we also communicate through slack at school which is basically installed on my phone lol. And I also don’t use my phone for games like as you do. But yea I knew people who use their cellphones for gaming etc.

@k_krist My daughter is 38 and loves playing video games but is usually on her desktop to play games. She only uses her phone if we've left the house for some reason.
I am retired and have some physical problems. My daughter is my carer. She gets paid by the government to help me when I can't see. That's her only job.
