Ticks

About 31 million people are bitten by ticks each year. They can cause such things as: Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and alpha-gal syndrome (an allergy). Haven't we all learned from childhood that after a hike or outdoor activity in the woods it's a good idea to always check our clothes? Many also take a shower, do a mirror check as well and check underarms, behind the knee, the groin, your hair, ears, between your toes, and even the belly button. When I was a young girl, probably 8 or 9, I recall coming home from a fun hike in the woods and having my mom checking me over for ticks. One was found in my groin area. Grandmother and mom got the coal oil and poured it right in the private area. Quick and to the point but it hurt so bad. I cringe at the thought of a tick now. Any rashes should be checked by a doctor.
