Frankie/my cats

As I sit here writing this, I have a cat lying on me, making writing difficult. Still, I love my Frankie boy. I don't love that he practically pushed Felix off of me to claim his spot, but I still adore him. Frankie is short for Francis. His actual name is Francis Bacon, as named by the Humane Society, but the boys found his name amusing and wouldn't let me rename him, so instead he goes by Frankie. Nicknames outside of Frankie are: Frankster, Frankenator, Sir Francis Bacon the Third, Francis Baconator (my husband works at Wendy's as a second job), and Frankenstein. He doesn't answer to any of them, but when we call Frankie, he will sometimes give us an ear twitch or maybe look our direction.
Frankie is by far the most social and friendly of our cats. He may not come when he is called, but he will follow you around endlessly as you try to do household tasks, except vacuum; he does NOT like the vacuum. It is the one guaranteed way to get him to leave the room. He adores his humans, or really any human. He would probably greet a burglar. My favorite thing he does is when he touches foreheads with me, or when he puts his paw out to gain our attention. He also does a head roll to show us how cute he is to get our attention. He does not take being ignored lightly. He will be relentless until you finally show him your attention. He is only allowing me to type this because he's asleep on my chest.
He loves playing, he is the only cat that will play with any and all cat toys we buy. Rascal plays with some toys but not all of them. Felix rarely plays with toys, but has one or two we will on occasion see him playing with. Frankie is our newest cat. We got him a little over a year ago. He and Rascal were not fast friends, and it took a while for them to tolerate each other. Rascal is small, but the other two cats now accept him as house ruler. Felix was here first, but he's such a laid back cat that he doesn't care what Rascal does as long as he leaves him alone. Frankie tried to dominate, but soon learned his place. Rascal is the only cat we have had since he was a kitten. Frankie is just a little over two years old. Felix was our first cat, and he is a big baby but he only likes his people and doesn't like strangers. He'll go into hiding when people he doesn't know are here. Rascal doesn't shy away from people but doesn't greet them either.
Frankie is probably our most entertaining cat. He's always up to something, from climbing the curtains (it doesn't bother us, our curtains are old, and he honestly isn't hurting anything; we don't care about aesthetics) to carrying around his toys in his mouth. He has a toy ball with a bell in it that he loves carrying around.
Frankie is the most hyper and the sweetest. Rascal is a close second at being hyper. Felix is our big lazy boy who just wants to lie on or near us. Felix is a big love bug to his people, but Frankie is a love bug to everyone. Felix is definitely my cat, though; he loves being near me or on me. He is always down for a nap or a treat. Rascal is my son's cat. Rascal will actually come when my son calls him, but will not come for anyone else. Felix will look at me when I call him but seldom moves, because that takes effort.
The thing people don't realize is how much personality cats can have; they do show love, but it's different. They aren't typically in your face (although Frankie is definitely the exception to this). Their love is more subtle, but they do show it. Our cats will come out of hiding to greet us when we have been gone for the day. They follow us around; they like to be near us. I know some people prefer dogs who are more obvious about their affection, but cats do show their affection.
The cat cuddles I'm getting currently say plenty about how much Frankie loves me, and later tonight, when Felix sees I'm going to sleep, he'll come either to sleep on my chest if Frankie moves or behind my head. That said, I also love dogs, but I don't have time for a dog. Dogs need much more attention, and I don't have the time to give a dog that attention. My cats are content with the arrangement we have. They sleep when we aren't here and then come hang out with us when we get home.
The picture is of Felix and a baby Rascal. I don't currently have any pictures of Frankie on my computer. I have plenty on my phone, but none on my computer. Frankie is our only non-orange cat, while Felix is more of a blonde, he's still classified as an orange. Frankie is a gray tabby cat. We have also come to the conclusion that we think he's part Bengal cat based on his meow, his need to be extremely vocal, the spots on his belly, and how social he is.

I love the picture of your cats! I included one of my dog, Sadie. I’d like a cat too, but I think I’m allergic (I went to a friend’s house who had a cat, and broke out in hives). I’ve never done that with a cat, but it had been years since I played with one. Also, Sadie is vehemently against other pets, even dogs. I had a dog when I got her, and she barely tolerated her. I knew after that she’d have to be a solo fur baby.

Aww, pets can be a source of stress relief, or they can be the stress lol. I would love a dog, but I just don't have the time for one. My cats all hate each other, but usually tolerate each other. My husband has a mild cat allergy, but it just gives him the sniffles, no hives. I wish I had a picture of Frankie on my computer, but I don't; all I have of Felix and Rascal is a picture from like four years ago. When we got Frankie, we were originally looking for another orange, but his personality was so out there that we couldn't not take him. I love fur babies.

He is; cats are nice to have around. Is there a reason you don't have one? I know some people just haven't gotten around to getting another cat, or they have other reasons for not having one. Animals are a responsibility, so some people just decide they aren't ready for another one. I have a friend who just lost her cat a few months ago, and she just couldn't get herself to get another cat, but did up with a dog recently.
