I Haven’t Slept Well in Two Nights.

I’m so tired. :( My brain just won’t be quiet and let me sleep. Now, my blind dog needed to go outside multiple times last night, but even THAT wasn’t the problem. If I could’ve slept between her potty breaks, that would’ve been fine. But nope. I was probably awake until sometime after 4 am. The struggles of anxiety and overthinking are real.
And it’s not as simple as “don’t think about it.” Yes, everyone deals with some degree of anxiety (and the overthinking that comes with it), but some of us have been diagnosed with an actual anxiety disorder. I wish I could just stop thinking, though, at least at night. Just flip the switch, shut my mind off, and go to sleep. It doesn’t keep me up all the time, but it has the last two nights, and I’m sick of it.
I doubt I’m going to be as productive as I’d like today. I do have work to do, but I’m taking my time with it, so I don’t make any mistakes. I have other things to do online, but I may just take care of those tomorrow. Then, if there’s work on the board, I’ll shift my focus. We’re going to the laundromat first, unless my brother-in-law picks up the new washer tonight. He wanted to pick it up last night, but he got home from work later than intended.
I’m really sorry if my post sounds mean or aggressive. That’s not my intention. I’m just tired and cranky. :(
Alright, I’m going to focus on this order because I’m running to the store in a few hours. If it gets to be too much, I’ll just work on it later or tomorrow. You all have a good weekend. Stay safe and take care.

You don’t sound mean at all. Not being able to sleep well for a couple days is terrible for our mental and physical health. I could do it and age twenty, but no where close to now. On the occasion it happens now I am just miserable.
I really hope you get some sleep tonight.

Thank you so much!
Remember when I used to pull all-nighters to work? I don't mind the occasional late night, but I'm just not as productive at night anymore. Mornings and afternoons are where it's at for me. I hate those rare all-nighters now.
Thanks! I finally did. My dog still wakes me up when she needs to go out, but at least my brain has stopped bugging me.

It doesn't seem like that to me. And I get it. I had a night like that last night. When it happens to me, I try to refocus my thinking to something relaxing. I know you have actual anxiety disorder, but it's a suggestion that sometimes work for me.

It's hard sometimes, but I've found that doing this alphabet list in my head helps. So, I pick a topic, like movies, and then go through it: "Annabelle, Baby's Day Out, Christmas With The Kranks, etc."
Or, I'll do rhyming words: "At, Cat, Bat, etc."And eventually, I'll start dozing off because I'm focused on that. It also helps when I'm out and my anxiety hits, but that hasn't happened as much lately.
(Feel free to steal this if you need it.)
Other times, I'll just focus on The Golden Girls and eventually doze off, but the show still makes me laugh, so I can't always do that haha.
