A Different Take on Iran

Let me be clear: I don’t believe we should have bombed Iran. It was a disastrous plan, and it was just all around wrong (IMO). So please don’t take this as me being okay with it. Anyway, here is the different take. In my dad’s neighborhood there are two families who came over from Iran. They didn’t know each other when they moved here. Both families told my dad they were glad Trump went after the Iranian government, and they want Trump to “finish the job”. One family had a sister whose throat was slit in the street for protesting. That was when they decided they had to leave. Their view shocked me. But then, they are over here. They aren’t still in Iran getting bombed. They don’t have to worry about their safety now. Perhaps that is why they support it. What do you think of their surprising opinion? And please remember their opinion is NOT mine.

I understand why they think that Trump was right to bomb, what they do not know is that Trump does not care a bit about Iranian people. He only wants their oil, the same as Venezuela. He went there, kidnapped their president, but the population now protests because things are not as they thought.

I understand the government in Iran is pure evil. What they do to their people, especially women is mind boggling. I guess those couples just don’t care why he did it, just that he did it. But they’re not thinking about what comes after. Trump isn’t going to take care of them.

@AmbiePam - That is the problem with most people, they do not think what will come after. What happened to Afghanistan? Did anything change there after Americans left. They stayed 20 years and 7 days after they were gone the Taliban regime was back. Now it's worse than before.

Each person has their own experience and they had a terrible one in their very own country which is very sad so I understand such hatred. But no matter what, I will never support the war. I still don't think that war has to happen because now the consequence is being suffered not only by Iran but the whole world. I understand their pain and I cannot blame them for thinking only of themselves. But what happened was never right at all.

I think if * lived in that situation I would welcome any help I could get. Not surprised they feel that way

When you’re under an oppressive regime you want anything to relieve it. People in East Germany welcomed the Soviet troops in 1945. That “love affair” was over by 1946. I think there are people in this country who want him out as president, with no concern about what might happen if JD Vance steps up into the role of president.

That’s a good point.
