Meanwhile in the Artic

This morning I was reading a fascinating article about a group of British researchers that were attempting to increase polar sea ice which in turn helps with global warming and animal preservation. They did have success recreating ice in a small area of the Artic.. They drilled holes in the existing sea ice and added water which due to the low temps froze almost immediately due to the -40 temp. The cost is too prohibitive to do on a large scale, but underwater drones can help do this project affordably, and may be used more extensively in the future. Do you ever read science news?

That discovery might help prevent the polar ice caps from melting further due to global warming. But it would need to be implemented on a large scale to keep up with the rapid melting of the ice. It’s like a race see which happens faster—melting ice or creating ice.

Yes, it can't be done affordably on a large scale that is why underwater drones are now being considered for the project. Hopefully, scientific ingenuity will be able to solve this problem at some point, as the hole in the ozone was repaired.

@snowy22315 I guess our scientists could come up with a way to fight the global warming happening around us. Too bad we have to capitalize on it before it can actually be put into action.

If this works it's absolutely a great help for the global climate.

Well it does work on a smallish scale, but like I said there needs to be a less expensive alternative. China has reforested a huge formerly desert area. I forget how big it is, but it's massive.

@snowy22315 This is exactly what many countries need to do. They have destroyed the Amazon forest to grow the palms that produce palm oil and now we know that this cheap oil is even dangerous. Humans are really dumb.

I don't see how they can combat it forever without some other things being changed.

Yeah..I sometimes read science news and I'm always fascinated by what these scientists are doing to make our world a better place ..it's amazing
