The system should do better

...So this morning I bumped into a neighbor who works in the government, and I couldn’t believe it...these guys haven’t been paid their salary from last month yet, and we’re already halfway through this one.. really shocking.
We were just bantering when that slipped into the conversation.
With prices going crazy, I don’t know how they’re coping.
The minimum wage is not enough for anyone to survive on and
even if the pay is small, they need it on time..people got families to feed. Its just not right ..The system really needs to do better.

Being on SS and livign from SS to SS I have gotten used to never having enough but just enough to keep living,

I am hoping that Tropical Storm Arthur decides to miss hitting Lake Charles and fade out soon before someone gets hurt in the Baton Rouge region and cities east this evening and the next few days.

Nobody has any real money unless you are the elite few but at least gas prices are coming down.

There might be several reasons why pay is delayed. But it's hard to blame a system, when you don't have (or give) all the facts. I know for example, because Friday is considered a 'bank holiday' my husband's direct deposit is either going to come tomorrow or Monday. He is supposed to get paid on the fourth wednesday of the month, but that changes. Yet, I get paid on/around thethird of the month so my pay isn't the same either. We're used to it and we are working around it, but we're working through it. I know bills are begging to get paid, but those effected need to speak out.
