You may have noticed that I like to ride my bike. I also like to take pictures of my bike leaning against stuff. I used to post them here, in fact. I was away from myLot for four years, so I have a backlog of photos of various bikes leaning on stuff. This one is from October 2023, when Project Hero rode the Colorado National Monument. That’s my Project Hero loaner bike (I call it “Agent Gravel”) during a break at a particularly breathtaking scenery point during our climb. The Colorado National Monument is located outside of Grand Junction, Colorado. It was designated as a Monument in 1911. The park serves as the route for the popular “Tour of the Moon” annual midnight bicycle ride. In addition to being a cyclist magnet, it’s also a popular destination for both motorists and motorcyclists looking for a scenic drive, and there are also numerous hiking and horseback trails. In addition to the mind-blowing scenery, you might just see a red-tailed hawk or golden eagle, or some bighorn sheep as you enjoy your chosen activity. We rode from Grand Junction, through the Monument, into Fruita. It ended up being a 45 and change-mile ride, with 2,644 feet of climbing. It took us 4 hours (not counting breaks) and we averaged 11 mph during the ride (my top speed being 36.1 mph during the descent towards Fruita.) It was a really fun ride! No matter which activity you choose, if you get the chance, go check out the Monument. The scenery is worth the effort! (And just another reason why Colorado rules!) Link is a short of some Monument scenery:
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I remember your leaning bike posts. That's certainly some vista.
