Grateful to my parents...

Though my parents didn't live long enough to witness my teenage years and adult hood, I am very grateful that they invested in our education. So much so that even when they were already dead, we still went to the best schools and universities without having to borrow money or even work part time jobs. These days the quality of education in public schools have significantly decreased. 5th grade students could hardly read. Senior high school graduates couldn't even spell correctly nor could do simple mathematics. It's depressing. And I could only wonder, what happened?

I think education has become stagnant over time due to the government’s lack of focus and excessive politicization. Every change in leadership brings a new set of plans tailored to whoever is in charge, making progress slow. It’s become too dependent on the department head, each new leader implementing their own rules and discarding the previous administration’s programs without even assessing whether they were beneficial to the people they served.

I have to say the same. I can only thank my parents because they invested in our education. The quality of education is declining, we are reaching a point where students are so rude that it's impossible to find teachers. It's depressing.

true. I don't know what happened too. After the batch of my daughter, she is an incoming second year college, it seems that the standards go downhill. I think most of them use slang that is not acceptable to use when in school
