Welcome, summer and happy international yoga day:)

Yes, by calendar, first day of summer has come to us, people, on the northern hemisphere and who still have or had 4 year seasons. Here, since yesterday, it's the beginning of a heatwave and i'm trying to cope with it. What i don't like is heat waking me from my sleep but, what to do; i sleep 7 hours and that is good. This is also going to be the longest day and after this day, by seconds or minutes, days will be shorter, which makes me content. I remember one summer, a long ago, i was at the movies, the movie had ended and it was almost 9.30 p.m. but it still wasn't dark outside. I felt it was unnatural and i felt i was in my own movie or something. Don't forget, for us, who support or practice yoga (no matter how slow or fast), that we celebrate yoga day today. I know it's not a steady sport or a skill but it works for people who like it. Like with everything that brings you some level of content, joy or just a positivity. Have a peaceful Sunday, myLotters. I hope you have eaten something. I'm waiting for my oatmeal to cool down, which is so slow on these summer days.

@valherma00 Thank you. The first yoga guru, who "invented" yoga was Patanjali, who was one of our greatest sages. I have been doing yoga for at least 12 years. My parents have been doing it, too. It is they who inspired me to do yoga. Perhaps that's the reason why neither my parents, nor me have any physical or mental problem. Both my parents are over 80 now.

I ’ve never experienced that since I’m from the Far East. I can imagine how strange it must feel to still see daylight that late - I’d probably think I was in a movie too.

At the very least yoga helps people get stretched, and that is valuable on its own. However, the people who are experienced in yoga are really amazing. I hope you can stay cool. It’s been hot as blazes here too.

i'm a yoga beginner for years but i lke that and like other sports, i think there is no need to force ourselves to upgrade our skills if we are already satisfied with our level. yes, i like it for stretching too. thank you. it's really hot today but i'm trying to stay cool, thank you and i hope you're good too

Sometimes my husband and I do Yoga, too. He used to go to yoga classes two or three times a week. He injured his knee decades ago, which led him to choose yoga instead of playing soccer, basketball, or even jogging.I like yoga because it helps keep my body stretched and flexible. I do it independently at home by following yoga instructors on YouTube, while he does his routine all by himself.Enjoy your oatmeal!

o, thank you; my oatmeal was good. i also learned yoga first with the books and later with youtube videos. i've attended 2-3 times yoga in some centers but those teachers was more like athletes and werren't relaxed; i din't like them. sorry for your husband's injury and it's great he chose yoga cause i read there are many benefits to yoga practice

Hey Valentina, happy Sunday to you too. Yoga is gaining popularity in our country. Yoga is a sport that combines strength, flexibility, and breathing techniques to improve physical and mental health. Regular yoga practice is very effective for reducing stress, increasing flexibility, and relieving pain. My wife does yoga, but I don't. I'm actually interested in taking up yoga, but it's very difficult to get started.

sorry for being late and thank you. i love it for reducing stress, that everyday's murderer of us. i learned yoga through yoga videos; i took a course 3 times and i didn't like how female teachers were more focused on doing poses and less on breathing; i felt they were more aggressive than peaceful too and i hated that energy. i'm glad your wife does it and i hope you can start soon too. happy saturday!
