Why is Israel always the first to break ceasefire agreements

June 21, 2026 11:53pm CST
Israel has become notorious for being the first to break ceasefire agreements. The war in Gaza, Lebanon and now Iran are witnesses to the fact that Israel never take ceasefire agreements serious. Just few weeks after President Trump announced a deal in the Iran war, Israel was reported to have attacked Lebanon, thus causing Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz again!

You realize Israel didn’t start this whole thing, right? Their people were slaughtered at a music festival by a hate group funded by these countries you mention. I’m not saying Israel hasn’t done things they shouldn’t, but if they had been left alone this wouldn’t have happened.

Why agree with a ceasefire they cannot keep?

@ogbenishyna44 Israel didn't agree. trump agreed for them and doesn't control them or the Hezbollah so has no way to enforce the agreement without throwing us back into a stupid war. Let the Hezbollah and Israel bomb each other out of existence if that's what they want. As long as they don't involve other countries, then we shouldn't get involved ourselves.

I’m not sure if Israel was part of the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran. It seems that, since Israel is often at the forefront of this conflict, joining a ceasefire can leave them vulnerable to attacks from other parties not involved Hezbollah might use the lull to launch strikes, triggering a new cycle of retaliation, which Iran could then use as justification to close the strait again. I think that when a ceasefire is established, all parties should commit to stopping aggression toward one another. Israel, Hezbollah, and everyone involved should avoid hostilities, not just Israel, which may simply be responding.

@jaylar I suspect that too and iran has no reason to close the strait since those were not part of the ceasefire deal. Bit of course they cpuld easily make that excuse to make their voice louder.

They cannot help themselves They are only happy when they are fighting They won't be so keen when America stops helping them It's high time they got a taste of what they dish out Be really ironic if Jerusalem for flattened.

Im even tired of the war. They should stop this slaughtering already. Isreal is messing up big time and I know they will get what's coming to them.

There's always a reason behind it. We can't blame one side or the other; it's politics. Each side wants to dominate the other. The victims are civilians, especially women and children. I really dislike war. Why can't we live in peace?

Reality.... Israel was invaded, people killed, raped, captured. Israel responded. Trump, entering office, thinking Iran was weak and easily dominated, stepped in. Due to his ignorance and ego, he didn't realise that Iran is Persia, an empire that lasted thousands of years. Now, aware all his threats and boasts will never work, goes for some kind of ceasefire. Wants to claim he 'won'.

@jaylar I respect your opinion. But whatever it is, peace is still best. As long as both sides refuse to make peace, the war in the Gaza will continue.

deal with reality....Hezbollah, a 'branch' of Iran (as is Hamas) invaded Israel, killed people, and provoked Israel to attack... the 'war' is Israel fighting against Hezbollah just as after 9/11 the US went after Bin Laden and his army.
