I guess if I'm not going to sleep, I can at least give you hourly updates from the Insomnia Train that has apparently pulled into the station and decided to park in my brain for the night. It's 2:35 a.m. as I start this post. I've dozed on and off a few times, but I haven't really slept, and I don't feel all that tired. Every time I think I might finally drift off, my brain decides it's the perfect time to start thinking about random things from 2007. And before anyone says, "Just make yourself go to sleep," trust me, if that were an option, I'd be doing it. That's not how things work around here. If it were, I would have been asleep hours ago instead of providing overnight status reports from the land of wakefulness. Anyway, since I couldn't get pictures to upload while we were at work today, I'll be sharing some of them with my posts this morning. Here's one of the dining room coming together. This was before the ceiling was finished and before I spent what felt like six years scrubbing everything. It's amazing how much progress has happened, even if it sometimes feels like we're moving one paintbrush stroke at a time. So, what is everyone else up to this morning? Anybody else awake at a ridiculous hour, or am I currently the captain of the overnight shift?

I slept like a log for about three hours. Then, my bladder woke me up. It’s what I get for guzzling water.

Thanks for the photo. It should be really nice once you've finished working on it.
