I think that names come and go in and out of style. I only know of 1 Donald, he goes by Don, but otherwise it wasn't a popular name in my region.

Donald is an old fashioned name. I doubt many people these days in the UK would saddle their child with that name in the USA. The only Donald I know of is Donald 'Donny' Osmond I don't know of any other Donalds except Donald Duck

There will be some followers who might name their babies Donald but probably a lot less than might otherwise be the case.
