It's So Hot That The French People Are Swimming in the Seine River

United States

I already mentioned in a prior post days ago that 48 people had drowned in France trying to escape the heat. But there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people lining the banks of the Seine River and taking a swim to try to escape the oppressive heat wave in Europe right now. No offense to France, but it's widely known that the Seine River is very polluted, with high bacterial levels and chemical contaminants. Up until now they've forbidden swimming in the Seine River, stating it's unsafe for swimming despite ongoing cleanup efforts. I guess when times get desperate, you do desperate things.

I have heard of horror stories when a huge fire hit Hawaii a few years ago when people were fleeing from the fire jumping into the ocean in an attempt to escape from the flames that burned their homes.

I guess it's okay if you don't inhale, so to speak!
