I nearly got away.

The taste of something eternal lingers in the colour of the wine tonight. From a yellowed page a few lines of Baudelaire awakened in me an appetite for sights and smells; purple silks, dusky maidens and a three-masted schooner lying at anchor in an exotic harbour. Even as I spoke some lines aloud into the empty night, salt that had been carried on an ocean breeze from Zanzibar began to crystallise on my lips. A boat called 'Vagabond' slunk out of the harbour at Honfleur, its crew hoping to get to the South Seas by winter. Unfortunately it left without me.

I would not mind hopping aboard a ship and just sailing away but you could not get me up in a plane,

@looeyville YES, so long as it was a slow freighter that takes just about 6 passengers, calling at small ports in the south seas and the other passengers were all spies or defrocked priests. No discos.
