For me sadly I never met my in laws , they both died within 3 months of each other when The Mister was just 18. My parents, however took The Mister in and treated him as their own from the being. He really had a great relationship with my Dad and when we lost him we years ago it really hit The Mister hard. Today he has an amazing relationship with my Mom. We see her a couple of times a week, he does do any jobs for her, buys her presents, does her garden, includes her in our outings when appropriate ( she doesn’t like walking around a field for hours on end looking at motorbikes etc ). She makes him special meals to take away to work with him , gets him little treats. ‘ just because ‘ ….gives endless advice on gardening …. So, my question to you lovelies today is ….. Are you / were you close to your in laws ?

@traceyjayne I never knew my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law remarried just after my wife and I got married and we lived in different towns. We got on ok but didn’t see that mush of each other. Lovely that mister gets on so well with your mum.

I am really close to my mother-in-law. I have to say she is amazing. I definitely lucked out with her. We get along really well. I'm not a big fan of my father in law. Never really have been.

Your parents are such angels and it's understandable why he would feel indebted to them. I don't have a wife yet, so I don't have in laws
