Tomorrow, July 1st, is Canada Day here in our country.
It is the country's birthday of the confederation of our dominion. Our actual confederation took place on July 1, 1867.
We began small, like people do themselves. We were only 4 provinces, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Today we are home to 10 provinces and 3 territories. We have 3 coasts.
Celebrations tomorrow often begin in local parks with pancake breakfasts, with maple syrup, there is usually games to attract families, parades, grilled foods for lunch followed by more afternoon fun, topped off by fireworks at dusk.
Everyone you see will be wearing a red shirt and often a red or a red and white hat.
I have a few Canada themed red shirts that I can choose from for tomorrow. I have one all laid out already.
Hopefully this is some useful information as to how we will spend our day tomorrow in our country. Happy (and polite) to be here, with our friends and families.

Thank you!
I had the day off from work.
I have a coworker who was supposed to work.
If you have to work on a stat holiday, you get paid for the day as well as time and a half wages.
He has a family member who lives out of town and isn't expected to make it until the weekend.
If he took a personal day he would lose his holiday pay, so he approached me and asked me if I would work his day and he take my day off.
So, that is part of how I will spend my day.
We plan on having a cold supper tomorrow because of the heat.
Our son, his wife and the babies are out of town so we will not see them until the weekend.
We may go to the park in the afternoon tomorrow when I finish work, depending on the heat.

@RasmaSandra Thank you.
I feel good that I was able to help that person go out of town to see his dying family member.
I wanted the day off, but the weekend isn't far off.
