Today Will Be 96 Degrees With a Heat Index of 115 / myLot

Oh how I dread today. It's Wednesday, so that means visiting mother-in-law. And of course she wants to go out. We've started taking her out every other week for lunch and just visiting her on the other weeks. Today is a take-out day. But it's going to be EXTREMELY hot and EXTREMELY humid. I already told her to wear shorts and a t-shirt because for some unknown reason she's been wearing long pants, long sleeves, and sweaters and turning off her a/c in her room but yet still complaining it's hot. She got mad Monday because they wouldn't let the residents go outside in the courtyard because of the Extreme Heat Advisory. It's dangerous for folks her age and many of them there in the Alzheimer's Unit also have medical conditions that would prevent them from being outside in this extreme heat. And yet Summer has just begun. Ugh.

Top hot for me. So I will sympathise with you and be glad I am not there and that we are not subjected to heat like that here

What’s funny is that the Youngstown, Ohio meteorologist I watch has been talking, since March, about the oncoming (oops, it’s here) El Niño and how it’ll make summer cooler. Not in Youngstown, not here, not anywhere right now. (Well, they did have a foot of sn*w in Idaho last week, but….)

I hate walking in the sun ..so I understand your frustration. In this case, I just hope the weather is not too hot. And of course, it's important to keep safe by wearing sunscreen, sunglasses and long sleeve t-shirt. I know you are aware of all these though.. happy take out day

I don't like the heat but am even less enamoured with high humidity. That sounds just awful.
