Things Are Looking Patriotic Today

United States
July 2, 2026 2:10pm CST
I wore a navy blue dress with a red, white, and blue scarf and received several comments on my outfit today. I saw a lady on the side of the road wearing a long maxi dress that looked like the American flag. I heard people talking in the grocery store about the USA winning its soccer match in the FIFA tournament last night. I'll post in a separate post about what the 4th of July means to us here in the United States.

I love it when people dress in our country's colours or in a Canadian tuxedo. It must have really brought a smile to your face to see that and hear the compliments on your own outfit.

I will be wearing my America 250 hat and shirt tomorrow. I wanted to fly my flag on the house, but I don't like to have it fly when I'm not there afraid the wind might take it.

I'm glad you are able to do those things. Here if someone dressed in the Union Jack they'd probably be called racist.

This will the first time I will enjoy Independence Day in America to celebrate 250 years in my lifetime since I celebrated the Bicentennial in the former Canal Zone in Panama in 1976.

I bet you looked great! This picture I included is a shirt I got my dad for free, and he’s wearing it Saturday. He loves it as he always looks for funny holiday shirts.
