Unable to sleep, I once again find myself watching You Tube videos of shows I’ve attended. Since I am a front row kind of guy, it’s astounding how many of these I show up in, however briefly. I just found this one tonight: Fishbone at Levitt Pavilion in Denver, Colorado, 05/06/2023. It was a free show. Fishbone formed in Los Angeles in 1979. They are most famous for their song “Party at Ground Zero.” Primarily considered a ska band (and they play a lot of ska,) the band also drops elements of punk, funk, reggae, and soul into their music. They have released 8 studio and 4 live albums. Charismatic vocalist Angelo Moore is the only constant member of a revolving door of band members (25 musicians have called Fishbone home over the years, many of them leaving and returning multiple times.) Levitt Pavilion is a non-profit music venue located in Denver (I live about 2-3 miles away. I can walk to it if I had to. I have ridden my mountain bike to a show there.) Levitt holds both free and paid concerts each summer and is a nice, large, grassy, take-the-family type of atmosphere. Fishbone was another band I had never seen before, so this high-energy show was a treat! Link is to Fishbone performing “Give it Up” during the show. I was front row between guitar and keyboardist, and my head shows up right off the bat:

I do that a lot too when I cannot sleep, well listen to music, can't say I have been to many concerts. That is why I like yours, you always remind of bands I kind of like but probably never gave enough time to see if I liked them more.

I just love going to see bands. I've been going to concerts since I was in high school. My parents were cool with it. Probably to get me out of their way for a few hours.

Fishbone is great. A very socially-conscious band.

Same here, when I can't sleep I put some music on. Spotify is my choice though.

I usually don't feel like messing with my records late at night, so I just watch a lot of You Tube.

@allen0187 - Ah. I get commercials either way. At least You Tube you can skip them if you want. I usually get up and go do something.

Certainly high-energy. How nice that there are free concerts from time to time.

The free concerts are nice. I haven't seen any I want to go to this summer, though.

Not heard of them, which got me wondering how many bands are out there that I've never come across

Considering that there's a lot I've never come across as well, I'd say a lot.
