Panic over.

I checked my British Airways Avios account this afternoon and it was empty. This was disconcerting and a little bit odd because yesterday it contained 60831 lovely points and now they were gone. So I chatted for a while with a computer who wasn’t really programmed to deal with vanished Avios points and it wasn’t very helpful but was very polite and wished me a nice afternoon. Then I bethought it a good idea to try and transfer my invisible Avios to my Aer Lingus Avios account. I did, and it worked! I shifted 60,000 points which apparently I no longer possess, and now they have joined up with the points in that account to give a respectable 136536 total, with 831 left in the BA account to keep it open. I’m due another few thousand in a few week time bring me up to 141,000 or so. Panic over, I’m figuring out where I should fly to next to get the points spent before they really do disappear, or I become incapacitated. Do you check on your reward points if you have any or do you just trust that all’s well?

I have a card that collects air line miles points, but I don't have many points collected.

Nice to have all of that figured. So, where do you think you will go? Some where you've already been to or somewhere new and different? Inquiring minds are curious.

I don't have anything like that, the best I can manage is Nectar points (which, you are right, I hardly ever check) and a few Boots Advantage points. Glad invisible points are still able to be spent!

You must have been scared when you saw that the points suddenly vanished but now that you have them back , it's all good
